Kokedama is a Japanese gardening technique that is both a living planter as well as a distinctive display piece. Simply put Kokedama is a moss ball that supports a wide variety of plant types that are surprisingly simple to care for and also stylish and trendy. Botanica Kokedama are all handmade and hand tied and true works of art.

They are known for their large shiny leaves and dark green foliage veined in white or yellow, reminding us of zebra stripes, hence the common name. The plants prefer warm climates and do well in most households making them an ideal plant for Kokedama gardening.

Care for Aphelandra Zebra Kokedama

Approximately once every two weeks submerge 3/4 of the moss ball in room temperature drinkable water for 10 minutes.
After being submerged, take your kokedama out and let the water drain for 5-10 minutes.
Mix plant food once every two weeks in water before submerging.

Note: Your kokedama might need water more often during summer time or less often during winter. Lift your plant up often to gauge the weight of the plant, once it becomes light it's time to water.
