Growing a Persian Violet plant indoors offers a splash of vibrant color and interest to the home or office space. When given optimal conditions, these perennial plants will reward you with beautiful violet blooms. This plant loves bright light but not direct light, so it's best to keep them near a window. They enjoy cooler rooms and higher humidity. Keep the soil moist and be careful not to over water as this will cause root rot. A sign that the plant is rotting is wilting leaves. Taking these simple steps and you will keep the plant blooming for 3-4 months.

To get even more out of the Persian Violet, once the plant has lost all of its blooms and foliage starts to turn yellow, it's moving into the dormant stage. Stop watering the plant at this point and relocate it to a cool room with moderate light. The leaves will eventually dry out which takes approximately 2 months. When this happens, remove the tuber and transplant it in a pot that is one size bigger.
